Part Two

The detective interviewed Nickie, Chris and Giovanni. Nickie was extremely upset, Chris wanted to stay but had to get back for an early morning shooting. He kissed her good bye. Nickie decided to go to the restaurant for dinner. She was in no mood to cook. Besides the others were busy talking with the detective. She grabbed her cloak and started walking towards the restaurant.

Meanwhile, the detective told John, Richard and Beth that he needed to fly to Brazil then to Italy to confirm but it seems there is a woman in Italy that paid off a bartender to spike Beth's drink with a date rape drug, but it had a twist. It was almost like a love potion too. Giovanni had been contacted by an old friend of the family. She sent him a picture of Beth telling him that she wanted him to make sure she was not seen for the rest of the evening. She also had him pick up a ring and told him to tell them the next day that they had run off and gotten married. She gave him $5,000.00 as a gift for keeping her friend happy for the evening. It was not until the next afternoon when he was talking to the bartender that he found out that he had slipped "something" in the drink. Beth looked at John, he was livid. She touched his hand and said, "she must have felt that you were going to come back to marry her one day. Why did you fly down there with Chris?"
He looked at her, "I received a telegram that you wanted me to come be with you. Chris had just called and thought it would be a great idea. They had just finished the shoot early and had a few days off."
Beth stood up, put her arms around his neck and asked, "Do you forgive me now?"
He reached up and touched her arms and said quietly, "Do you forgive me for jumping to conclusions and not trusting you? You did nothing wrong, so there is nothing to forgive."
She leaned down and whispered, "We need to work on a few things but I have no problem forgiving you as long as we work together on this." Beth turned to leave the room. She wanted to talk to Nickie but she was nowhere to be found. So she just sat on the step and watched the sea.
Richard, John and the detective were talking about how to best handle this without a big public scandal. Something John did not want to do to Beth.

Nickie was seated at a table on the porch area so she could watch the sun go down. She was served a drink. Then she felt a hand rubbing the side of her face. Her heart leaped, her stomach knotted up. The man leaned down and asked her what she would like for her entree. He whispered a couple of suggestions. That made even Nickie blush. She leaned back to look into Tyler's face. He came closer and they kissed. Her mind was racing. "What about Chris?...What should I do? Oh, what the hell." Her hand touched his face and she kissed him back. She told him she would love to do his suggestions for dinner but first she wanted some nourishment to help her sustain enough energy for those suggestions. They laughed. He told her not to leave, that her meal was the last he would cook tonight and he would join her for dinner. He worked his magic in the kitchen. Nickie sat watching the sun go down wondering what she was doing. But she decided she did not want to be alone tonight and she knew Tyler would not disappoint her. She began remembering last Christmas and her midnight snack. He found her smiling thinking of something as her dinner was placed before her. He slipped in the seat next to her. "What are you thinking about" he whispered in her ear.
"Oh, about the midnight snack you made last year for me," she responded dreamily.
Dinner went well. The food was great, the company astounding. But the night was still young, and both of them had their second wind. They left the restaurant, Tyler grabbed a blanket from his car trunk. They walked the beach to a place Nickie had never seen before. She could see the lighthouse from here. The sky was mostly clear, with a few scattered clouds moving across the moon. They sat down on the blanket close together. Tyler reached in a bag that he had. He had a thermos of hot chocolate laced with bourbon. It was very smooth and refreshing. It warmed them both enough to begin their night of pleasure.

Beth was sitting on the step waiting for the men to finish. Starving a little, thinking that she could see two lovers silhouettes across the way. No it couldn't be. She must just be delirious from no food. But the movement was slow and powerful at the same time. Beth looked away, in case it wasn't her imagination, she was intruding on someones special night. The men broke up their conversation and decided to move to the local bar for some dinner. John helped her up and held her close. The thought of two lovers intertwined, almost gave her the thought to say no to dinner and slip away with Richard, I mean John. After dinner, which seemed like an eternity to Beth. She went back to the lighthouse with John. They went up to the light area and stood looking out from the porch area. It was beautiful. Beth timidly looked towards the area where the lovers had been to see if there was still movement. There was to her amazement. Beth grabbed John's hand and guided him back to their room to see if they could rekindle some spark between them.
